Welcome to the Earth Energy Environment Interdisciplinary Institute at the University of Leeds
Welcome to the Earth, Energy and Environment (E3) University Interdisciplinary Institute. E3 is the hub for interdisciplinary collaboration on energy sustainability across the Leeds campus and beyond. We draw on a world class, highly interdisciplinary team to bring a systems approach to energy, encompassing the physical and environmental sciences, engineering, policy, economics/business issues etc.
Our interests cover the full spectrum of the generation, transmission and use of energy. The E3 team provides both modelling and experimental expertise in topics such as:
- conventional, alternative and nuclear energy generation;
- energy use in applications as diverse as buildings and aircraft;
- carbon capture and storage;
- transition pathways for new energy technologies;
as well as close linkages with research on climate change and local environmental impact.
